Creating New Geometries
HyGEARS THE GEAR PROCESSOR
HyGEARS offers a simple, efficient and quick way to create New gearset Geometries.
The New Geometry Definition Window (figure
below) is used to input basic gear data. For example, the tooth numbers, gear pitch diameter, face width, etc. from which the new
geometry is created and displayed.
Angular units can be entered in the Deg.Dec or Deg.Min.Sec formats, and linear units can be
either millimeters or inches.
HyGEARS
also allows the import of existing gear summaries, either in Gleason SPA or Klingelnberg ND file formats. Thus, all your current gear
sets can be modelled using HyGEARS.
The newly created geometry can then be:
- viewed,
- edited, modified, developed, Corrected or
Reverse engineered,
- saved to disk for later reload and work,
- renamed, just as one does with a document in a word processor,
- exchanged
with other HyGEARS users,
- etc.
