The New Geometry Definition Window (right figure) is used to input basic gear data. Clicking on the Next>> button drives through the different input pages, at the end of which the new geometry is created and displayed.

HyGEARS also allows the input of existing summaries in Gleason Spa, Becal neutral data or Klingelnberg ND files. Thus, all your current gear sets can be modelled using HyGEARS.

The newly created geometry can then be:

• viewed,
• edited, modified, developed, Corrected or Reverse Engineered,
• saved to disk for later reload and work,
• renamed, just as one does with a document in a word processor,
• exchanged with other HyGEARS users,
• cut on conventional or multiaxis CnC machines,
• etc.
