HyGEARS provides tools to assess and improve gear manufacturing quality. Measurement can be done on different CMMs and CMM results are used in several applications, as outlined below.
Measured Surfaces
|
displays the simulated teeth and measurement data
|
Compare Surfaces
|
displays the differences between the measured and simulated tooth surfaces |
Stock Distribution |
displays the differences between the
Roughing and Finishing tooth thickness
distribution; offers tools to improve the Stock distribution
|
Corrective Machine Settings
(Closed
Loop)
|
displays the differences between the measured and simulated tooth surfaces;
provides tools to calculate changes to machine
settings needed to bring the
machined tooth surface coincident with the simulated surface, thereby correcting
the displayed surface
errors; for spiral bevel and hypoid gears only
|
Reverse Engineering |
displays the calculated differences between the measured
and simulated tooth
surfaces; provides tools to match the simulated tooth surface to the machined
tooth surface, thereby “reverse-engineering”
the actual tooth surface;
for spiral-bevel and hypoid gears only
|
CMM Nominal Data |
displays the simulated tooth surface,
and offers tools to locate and calculate a
CMM target surface; for Gleason-Zeiss, MdM, Hoeffler, Klingelnberg-P,
CDS or any user defined
format
|
Diameter over Balls |
calculates and displays the distance between 2 spheres contacting the tooth
spaces
on opposite sides of the workpiece; the spheres can be moved axially
(on bevel gears), and the diameter of the spheres can be changed
