The part programs generated by HyGEARS can be read directly by the CnC machine controller:
- Part programs include all tool movements
(Face Mill, CoSIMT, Coniflex dish, End Mill, Ball Mill) needed to cut the tooth flanks;
- part programs consists of a subroutine describing
the tool movements for each tooth flank; this subroutine is called repeatedly to cut each tooth space while the work piece is indexed
about its axis;
- stock to be conserved in relation to the final tooth flank can be specified, such as to semi-finish the tooth
before hardening, and thus do the finishing cut with little stock to remove after heat treatment;
- the number of steps along the tooth
face width and in the depth wise direction can be anything between 3 and 121, and thus accommodates roughing and high quality finishing;
- all tool movements in relation to the final tooth can be visualized and animated on screen; therefore, the user knows what is going
to happen before it happens;
- the work piece can be visualized with its supporting arbor, at Toe and/or Heel, in order to assess collision
risks with the tool;
- cutting cycles include "Slot by Slot" and "Flank by Flank" strategies; tool path from Toe to Heel or Heel to
Toe can be selected for each of these strategies;
- tip deburring cycle using an End Mill cutter, either on its end or on its flank;
- roughing, where the cutter is either located in the center of the slot and does no generation, or does an across slot MultiPass
movement; for CoSIMT, End Mill and Ball Mill tools;
- integrated support of Corrective Machine Settings (Closed Loop)
